Coronavirus + how our daily dose of wellness practices could help us power through the pandemic4/4/2020 I am not a doctor, nor do I claim to know what is best for anyone other than myself, however, I am perpetually healthy and I can testify that my health and wellness practices have done the trick to help me rise above some of the nastiest sicknesses that seem to get the best of those around me. I have two businesses, several side projects that are quite time-consuming, Oh, and of course, I have a 6-month-old baby boy. Those that know me best would call me busy. I like to call it prioritized. All this to say, I can count, on one hand, how many times in the last 10 years I have had some sort of cold or cough. I exercise a series of rituals daily to achieve my overall health and wellness. Admittedly my exercise and daily yoga have dwindled to a bi-weekly occasion at best. I still at least find time for sun, fresh air and at least 30 min of getting the blood flowing. All this to say, that if I can find the time to practice this to help me stay healthy, maybe some of it could help you as well. I have stayed on top of the news surrounding the pandemic because I, like many of you, am a mother of a small child and the daughter of parents in the most ill-affected age group, and, of course, a friend to countless others that I want to see protected. So, in combining all of that, this is what I know… Supplement with Zinc & Apple Cider Vinegar & GSE. Destress with Natural CBD. Consume Fresh Food. Clean with GSE. Drink Plenty of Water. Limit your alcohol and sugar intake. Good Time to Catch Up on Sleep. Get Some Sun. Exercise your Mind, your Body + your Spirit. Cleanse — Everything. *bolded items as those I just can’t live without _________________________________

![]() It’s time we changed the nature of a listless New Year. We have culturally ingrained a system of blowing our load by the end of the year and if we hadn't already accomplished this by December 31, then we are somehow predisposed to do it on new years eve (by midnight...tick tock) We promptly follow this up the next day by the actual physical onset of depression, which is a combination of sugar withdrawal and alcohol rehab all coupled with the self judgement of things we wished we had done better last year. Happy Frekin New Year. What a mess. ... I hope that’s not you. Maybe you found us because you are looking to revamp that lifestyle or maybe you found us because you can swing that way, but you understand the importance of balance and moderation (she says as she shoves half a non-vegan beautifully buttered scone into her pie hole) or maybe you found us because you, like ourselves, on the best of days - understand that may indeed not be the key to balance and blissfulness. After the scone, the reality is that if we can look at the things that we might otherwise judge ourselves for -- in light of why they might be valuable — we will find that they too can help us find joy and that the true antithesis of wellness is actually self loathing. I’ve said it before and I will say it again (and again and again...) beauty truly comes from within. I wanted to touch base a few weeks into the new year as a refresher: you are your own best guide. I want to take the new year as an opportunity to align with the things I care about most and satiate the thoughts sparked by my various curiosities. I choose to continue to build consciousness and ultimately grow my love for all things. If you haven't already taken the time to breathe into the lessons that you've learned (good, bad or otherwise) it's never too late. 2019 politics taught us to be patient 2019 stars showed us polarity 2019 cannabis shed light on our history and from this and much more, we get to dig our heals in...to feel rooted in everything we've come from and let our shoulders roll down and back as the crown of our head reaches toward the sky. Knowing that it is a gift to move forward. I hope to bring more insight to the table on all things aforementioned in more detail this coming year by sharing our knowledge in video format with our community. Sharing stories (Tea Time with Tante Bam Bam), forming rituals (Ritual Guide) and demystifying the industry (Deeply Green) We also want to hear from you what you want to know from us. All things in ceremony Blair & The Verte Team ___________ Another thought: What if cannabis was not the catalyst to so many American epidemics, but rather the catalyst to finding the solution? I tell the story of how cannabis became so vilified, and what potential opportunities we might unlock by seeing it in a new light here on TedX

Our hemp extracts come from the oldest farms in Europe. They are organic and GMP (good manufacturing process certified). We do this because...
1. we trust the small family owned company and enjoy working with them 2. certifications in Europe are far more trustworthy (in our eyes) 3. the only way around all the murky laws in hemp products right now is to source internationally #sourcematters For more on the legality of our source: here For more on the EU certifications on Organic: here More from us on the details of our ingredients and extraction: here in Verte 101 If you are still not sure and want to ask us further questions... hello@verteessetntials.com
We know "mainly" just caught your eye. We underlined it for a reason. We say that because we use a full spectrum extract meaning there are small amounts of other terpenes and flavonoids present in the extract. We like this because it creates what people in the cannabis industry refer to as whole plant synergy or the entourage effect.
We will get into all of these things later - but just a quick FYI - terpenes and flavonoids create the taste, smell, AND experience profile of ALL plants - not just cannabis. That is why we have crafted our oils with a host of other beautiful natural botanicals - to create experiences. Here are the terps (terpenes) in our products: *essential oil molecules in our extract specifically from the cannabinoid plant Myrcene, Limonene, Alpha & Beta -pinene, Linalool, B-caryophyllene, Caryophyllene oxide, Terpinolene and Humulene. *in isolate (the ingredient in our product) you will not taste or smell these terpenes. Verte Essentials are natural products made to enhance your state of being. Our edible oils can help your body find balance. Not just with our key ingredients (here) but also with a host of other beautiful natural ingredients we collect and curate into energetic experiences (here). Our topical beauty products can make your skin glow and repair past damages while preventing new ones. We still can't believe all topical products don't cover at least two of those bases. We believe in democratic wellness and beauty. We believe in manufacturing in a way that is better for our bodies and better for our environment. Our intentions and our ingredients are whole.
This post is a guest feature by cannabis advocate, earth medicine intuitive, and our lovely co-founder Blair Lauren Brown.
Thich Nhat Hanh, reminds us in his book, Teachings on Love, that practicing compassionate and true love helps us let go of pain, sadness, judgement and other bindings of the mind that keep our heart dormant to the possibilities of a fuller life.
Like all good things, in time and with practice we will be blessed with knowing the experience. Again, I have to remind myself to practice. I have to remind myself to embrace the process. This is where I find myself pursuing meditations and rituals.
If you want to know more about my personal rituals, how I use my Verte, and the mantras I honor in my meditations please feel free to ask me here in the comment section. with love and patience, blb You have been invited by the beautiful team At Baby & Company in Seattle to join for a day of Beauty this weekend.
11 to 5 on Saturday, November 11 Yeah - what they said... (they put it so nicely I couldn't resist a direct share: here or below) At Baby & Company we're absolute advocates for the mind & body benefits of cannabis, especially products containing pain-relieving CBD derivatives. CBDs (or, cannabidiols) are the chemical compounds in a marijuana plant that contain non-psychoactive, but highly soothing properties with a range of medical applications from treating anxiety, inflammation, epilepsy, arthritis, and more. Sun Valley–based beauty brand Verte Essentials also believes in the power of the plant. They've launched a CBD-infused line of oils with a transformative, holistic ethos that treats skin from the inside out. To celebrate, we're hosting cofounder Blair Lauren Brown for an in-store clinic featuring Verte Essentials' signature line, plus beauty treatments from esthetician Carla Butts of Parlor 11. Stop by the store from 11 to 5 on Saturday, November 11 to try the spa line and ask Blair all your burning questions. And let us add you to the list via RSVP@babyandco.us. |
